The Serpentine Lake, (Berrington Hall, Herefordshire) provided the inspiration for this pastel painting. My work is an exploration into colour and form. It is also concerned with the notion of a relationship or connection to a place and how, in turn, we observe and experience the aesthetics of the world around us. My intention is to invite the viewer to find beauty in the everyday. My paintings are often made by layering and blending colours and forms using pastel, coloured pencil and often collage, to create stylised depictions of my subjects.
