SOLD - I wanted to create a series of British wildlife and I love watching the blue tits, great tits and long tailed tits in my garden. This is part of an 8 piece series of all eight British tit species. Through the process of painting these birds it was fascinating to learn the differences in their anatomy, and habitats. I painted them to fit them into each of their respective environments to make each one individual but still feel like part of a set.

The inspiration

SOLD - I wanted to create a series of British wildlife and I love watching the blue tits, great tits and long tailed tits in my garden. This is part of an 8 piece series of all eight British tit species. Through the process of painting these birds it was fascinating to learn the differences in their anatomy, and habitats. I painted them to fit them into each of their respective environments to make each one individual but still feel like part of a set.

About the artist

I am an artist based in Sheffield, specialising in wildlife art. I studied Zoology at Undergrad and Marine Conservation at Masters level. I have always been fascinated by the natural world, whether that is from a scientific or artistic point of view. I work in a variety of mediums which keeps things fresh and exciting and keeps me learning as I create. I love being able to capture a subject on canvas and breath life into the subject. I want to captivate the viewer and transport them to a place of wonder and empathy for the subject. I aim to showcase the amazing life that our world has to offer and the environments that they depend upon. I have worked with Marine Conservation Cambodia and will be working closely with them and other conservation charities to increase awareness and visibility of endangered species and environments.

Postage is free. As we’re handling fragile artworks, we carefully wrap all pieces and only use a signed service for all of our shipping.
