I live near Bristol which has an ever changing urban landscape which inspires my work, the landscape changes often with new graffiti, buildings and themes for me to paint, I also live close to the sea which I find calming, and although I don’t do many seascapes I find being close to the coast as well as being close to a large city (Bristol) gives me the best of both worlds.
John CurtisI live close to the coast so there's always endless inspiration for my watery work from the sea, especially with how it changes with the seasons. As well as this, Bristol is such a creative place! The city is steeped knee-deep in the arts, so there are always plenty of opportunities to meet with creative people and bounce ideas off each other.
Abi WhitlockInspiration is everywhere in Bristol. I can take a walk on any given day and see street art by Banksy, hear the sounds of saxophone, piano and violin drifting out onto the street, and experience a diverse combination of landscapes and neighbourhoods. It all helps to spark creativity.
J.K. BleegBristol is such a creative city, with a wealth of other artists to bounce off of. There is a strong sense of community which is often lost in bigger cities and there are so many opportunities to get involved. I love the architecture - it reminds me of home back in West London, but we're still so close to the countryside if I ever need to get away for a moment.
Cathie CooperBristol is a culturally diverse city, with loads of street art, an annual graffiti festival. The city is a bit rebellious, in the recent past I have been inspired by the climate movement. The energy the city has displayed in challenging injustice and authority inspires my work.
Dan GardinerBristol has an amazing DIY culture. From music to art to social justice. It inspires me to to experiment and take risks.
